World Family Foundation

Sponsorship

When you become a World Family Foundation sponsor, you will be assigned a child to write to and will receive a photo and some background information on your child. You will also receive the World Family Foundation quarterly newsletter.
Our sponsors are encouraged to keep an active communication with their child through letter-writing. Writing to a child and receiving personal letters in return is the heart of sponsorship and creates a loving bond and a sense of guardianship. It brings you into their world and allows you to understand the tremendous value and importance of your involvement.
The World Family Foundation is committed to meeting the needs of each child which in many situations may include housing, food, clothing, medical, and educational costs. In order to meet these needs, and to offer a flexible schedule for participation, several modes of sponsorship have been established. Due to the high cost of living throughout the world, more than one individual may be assigned to sponsor the same child. The child then happily communicates directly with each of his/her sponsors.

Towards LIVING EXPENSES - $360/year
SCHOOL FEES - $200/ year

ADDITIONAL SPONSORSHIP & DONATION OPPORTUNITIES:
You can choose to sponsor a fund at $360/ year or $200/year.

BUILDING FUND
Donations to the Building Fund ensure adequate and well-maintained housing, and to address any emergency needs that may arise.
TEACHER FUND
The teachers and caregivers are the most critical element of any residential and school program. Our success at Prashanti School is due to the exceptional attention given to the children by the on-site staff and academic teachers and tutors. We are fortunate to have a very talented group of staff members who are committed to their work and dedicated to the children. Contributing to this special fund is crucial to maintaining the high standards that benefit the children of Prashanti School and Prashanti International School.
MEDICAL FUND
The Medical Fund ensures that the children have medical care as needed, including hearing and vision exams, and that we can take care of any medical emergencies that may arise.
COLLEGE FUND
The College Fund was established in 2008 to provide the means for talented students graduating from Prashanti School to pursue a higher education. The loving care given to the children, many of whom otherwise may have not received any education at all, has resulted in academically proficient students who are excellent candidates for college and university. The potential for their future has been enormously expanded.
PASSBOOK FUND
At Prashanti School in Puri, India, the World Family Foundation has established a Passbook Fund. This consists of regular deposits into an individual bank account in each child's name. This account becomes available to the child upon graduation at the age of 16. At that time, they are ready to develop vocational skills or may have gained admission to college. This passbook fund helps give them a start in their new life.
CULTURAL CLASSES FUND
This fund pays for the special classes in which the children take part, including dance, drama, singing, art, yoga, and learning computer skills. The children's lives and talents are greatly enriched by participating in traditional cultural programs and in expanding their ability to use computers.
PIS FUND - Prashanti International School
Contributing to this fund will help Prashanti International School continue to expand and develop. As an English language school, all classes are taught in English from kindergarten onwards. Each year a new class level will be added to serve the children's needs. We will be adding teachers and enriching the program, thus expanding the horizons of these needy children.
